You don't need to have an account in order to use XShorts. As soon as you open the app, you can start watching an endless stream of short videos, so you don't need to identify yourself if you don't want to. However, to start following other users, share your own videos, or leave comments, you will need to register. Luckily, you can log in with Google, Facebook, or Apple ID. Like this, you can create your account in just a few seconds. From your profile, you can also add basic information about yourself and a photo.

Customize your filters and notifications

Once you've created your XShorts account, it's a good idea to take a look at the Activity Filter, which can be found in the app's Settings. From here, you can choose the type of content you want to see, as well as what kind of notifications you want to receive. By default, all the options are checked, but if you don't want to receive any notifications, all you have to do is uncheck them. This way, the app will never show you a notification, so you can keep your activity on the app more private.

As mentioned, the way XShorts works is very similar to TikTok and other short video streaming platforms. By swiping up or down, you can instantly switch from one video to another. If you like a video, you can like it or leave a comment. In general, this app has a high engagement rate, with many users leaving comments on their favorite shorts. Much of the content, however, appears to be textbook ragebait, with many videos clearly created to provoke a response.
